Two beaches next to each each other at the southern part of the island, 4.5 kilometers from Skopelos. On both beaches, you will find wonderful sand, umbrellas and sun loungers, as well as refreshment bars. Many people choose these two beaches for their crystal clear waters, but also for the quick access. You can reach Velanio by either swimming or following the path behind the cape, where the tomb of Stafylos was found, who, according to the myth, participated in the Argonaut expedition with Jason. In his tomb part of his sword was found, which is exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Athens. Velanio is one of the few known nudist beaches, so take care not to be found in an awkward position!
