In Ermoupoli are scattered several archeological remains. To the east of the modern stadium lies a small part of the wall of the city. The ancient citadel was built on the hill, where now stands the church of the Dormition of the Theotokos. Walking to the north of the citadel, you will find an ancient theatre.
