On the main road that leads to Panagia (Virgin Mary) is the Archaeological Museum of Tinos. It houses findings from the island, the most important of which were found at the two archeological sites of the island, the temple of Poseidon and Amphitrite, at Kionia and the Sanctuary of Dimitra (7th c. BC) in Exomvourgo. Among the findings stand out the big, embossed decorated earthenware jars, depicting the cycle of Theogony, but also religious ceremonies of the time, embossed pottery creations, of a local workshop of the island and the marble sun clock of Andronikos from Kyristo. The museum collections also include burial pottery of Geometric period (10th-8th c.) sculptures, heads of the Hellenistic era, everyday pottery, coins, etc. Findings are also exhibited at the museum's atrium such as inscriptions, statues but also sculptures of marine beings.
