The Folklore Museum of Xanthi is located in the Palia Poli (old city) since 1975 and is housed in the Kugumjoglu Mansion. Through the exhibits housed in the well attended space of the museum, visitors get to know Xanthi and particularly its locals; reflecting the locals’ daily life. Under its roof we see exhibits such as jewellery, clothes, house-wares and tools. Aside from these collections there are also paintings and other similar artwork. In other words, the museum keeps within a space which can be considered the gem of the area, all the everyday life of the locals, and offers it to whoever wants to be acquainted with it.
