This is an impressive natural formation, accessed by a fairly poor road. But the wild beauty of the landscape more than compensates the nature loving visitors, who are many during the summer months. Krikelliotis, the small river springing from north of the village Krikello, flows here in the narrow valley with the precipitous slopes and cliffs.
The gorge of Vothona is one the most beautiful and difficult of Evrytania with its nine waterfalls that reach up to 30 meters of height.
This gorge starts from the church of Agia Triada on the provincial road Krenti (western Fragkista) and ends up on the location of Fterolakas.
It is located near the bridge of Kastania outside the village of Prousos. It is a relatively short and easy gorge. On the route you will see three small waterfalls where you can swim, a picturesque wooden bridge and after that a 10-meter high waterfall that forms a natural pool.
