Built in the Port of Hersonissos, overlooking the deep blue sea is a gem that immerses the visitor in the Cretan tradition. The museum consists of three sections. The first is the ethnographic section that focuses on local customs, occupations, legends and more. The second section focuses in the natural environment of Crete, with exhibits considering the flora and the mineral resources of the Cretan land. The last section is dedicated to the work of Cretan artists, and more specifically to the self-taught ones.
