High up on western Tzoumerka, Pramanta remain in their initial position at an altitude of 840 meters despite the destructions they had to encounter.
The first settlement was created during the 15th century but the name Pramanta is first seen in some texts of the Venetian Republic in 1697.
The village became a vital town of Tzoumerka and played a major role in the Greek Revolution. Many warriors originated from Pramanta and as a result it was burned down by the Turks. During the occupation by the Germans the village was again destroyed.
However, the love of its residents kept it alive and it stands there between the mountains until today.
You will talk with the locals in the historic square with the spring, where the story says that the Turk that gathered the taxes used to stand. Around Pramanta you will find the monastery of Agia Paraskevi, the church of Asproklissia in the forest of Markopoulos, the traditional watermill of Christon, the magnificent cave “Anemotrypa”, the hiking shelter “isioma” and the water of the “Skala” springs with its therapeutic abilities.
