The 2050-acre Environmental Bourazani Park exists since 1916 when it was actually bought by Evangelos Tassos, great grandfather of the current owners.
Initially it was used as a pasture for the herds also owned by the family. In 1974, the third generation of the Tassos family started breeding game while they bought and brought to Greece animals from Yugoslavia, Italy and Austria. The original idea to make the park open for public became true with the help of some European programs, money invested by the family, lots of personal work and of course perseverance.
As a result, the park is now open for people from all walks of life either they are concerned about environmental matters or not.
In the park you will see six kinds of animals: elks, fallow deers, Capra aegagrus criticus, wild ships, roes and boars.
From Ioannina you follow the E90 towards Konitsa: you turn left on the 45th kilometer (there are signs), you maintain direction towards Vasiliko: after 5 kilometers you turn right and you will find Bourazani after 9 kilometers on your left.
