While wondering in the castle you will find yourselves in the fortress Its-Kale. In a 2-storey building built in 1958 as a royal warehouse the Byzantine Museum is housed.
The exhibits that come from the whole Epirus are divided into three categories: Paleochristian, Byzantine and Post-byzantine covering a period from the 4th till the 9th century. You will have the chance to see icons, coins, ceramics and other objects as well as exhibits of the traditional silversmiths in a room also known as “vault”. In the Byzantine Museum, built in 1995, operate preservation workshops and frequently exhibitions and cultural events are housed.
Opening hours: 08:30-17:00.
