This museum is housed in an impressive building that was built in the early 17th century (probably 1618) by Aslan Pasa also known as “the Good Pasa”, who built it after ending the revolution of Dionysus the Philosopher.
It is located in the castle, which is displayed in its three collections that represent its Christian, Jew and Muslim residents.
You will see traditional apparels, lots of utensils and decorative objects as well as weapons and clothing from the Turkish Occupation. Among the exhibits you will also find the sword of Karaiskakis.
Around the museum there are the Turkish Barracks (Soufari Sarai), the ruined baths and the renovated library.
