Where the southern hillsides of Trapezitsa and Rodovouni meet the northwestern sides of mount Timfi, the astonishing gorge of Aoos River is formed.
In the area near the gorge there are lots of different types of forests: from river forests to beech and pine trees. Lots of smaller rivers and waterfalls fall from the cliffs towards the Aoos River. The difference in altitude between the river and the peaks is about 2000 meters. This 8 kilometers long gorge starts from the single-arched bridge (1870) of Aoos and ends up west of the road Paleoseli-Vrysochori. Its width is 300 meters to 2,5 kilometers.
Near the waterfall of Gravos, there is the historic monastery of Stomio dating back to 1774. A path from Vrysochori goes up to the mount of Timfi through the location of Kartero. Another path ascends from the bridge of Konitsa to the monastery of Stomio and continues up to the dragon lake on the Gamila peak.
