By boat: Karpathos can be reached by ferry from Piraeus, after a long journey of nearly 20 hours.

By plane: The island is connected by air with Athens Airport, Eleftherios Venizelos, the flight lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes. The frequency of service varies depending on the season. Karpathos Airport receives also charter flights from various cities in Europe.

Domestic Transportation

Due to the large extent of the island and the mountainous bulges that encumber transportation, it would be better if you rented a car. On the other hand, if you like walking, there is a bus network that connects the capital with several beaches and villages. There is also a specific bus line to the remote Olympos. A greater number of the island's beaches can be accessed only by boat.

Marinas: Those who travel with their own boat can anchor in the port of Karpathos or Diafani where it is possible to find supplies.
