Ammoopi is a seaside tourist resort, one of the most developed resorts on the island, located 6km from the town. What is more, it is one of the most famous and popular beaches, since it is protected from the winds and the summer northern winds (meltemia). It is an organized beach of 6km in length, where the visitors can also do water sports. The village has the appropriate infrastructures for leisured vacation and for those who want to experience the cosmopolitan aspect of Karpathos.
