The picturesque station by Evaristo De Chirico, father of the famous painter, remains unaltered since 1882, when the construction of the Thessalian Railway Company network gave the first boost to the development of the city. The museum exhibits a unique for Greece; a wealth of small items such as rare old photographs, uniforms, telegraphs, 19th century machinery made of wood for issuing tickets, tools, train station clocks, timetables and “primitive” measurement instruments. There is also a collection of old records, rare books about railway architecture, historic documents and Evaristo de Chirico’s and associates blueprints -watercolours of extreme beauty, relative to the construction of the picturesque Volos - Lechonia - Milies with the small train of Pelion railway line.
