The entomological museum of Dr. Athanasios Koutroumpas, PhD in Agronomics, is unique in Greece and one of the best in the Balkan area. It is being continuously enriched with new specimens. Today the collection consists of 35.000 insects of various classifications, mostly Lepidoptera, that belong to more than 10.000 species, subspecies and races. Rare or unique specimens can be found among them, such as the S. American Thysania agrippina, the biggest butterfly in the world, having a wing span of 37- 40 cm.
