In the village of Klima there are ruins of the ancient city of Klima, the first port of the island. After the decline and destruction of Philakopi, the Dorians built the second major city of the island (1100BC-800BC) from the southern part of Tripiti up to the present-day Klima. The town of Milos had two citadels, the Prophet Elijah in the SE and Pereanti or Pirgaki in the NE, between them remnants of the market and temples. The theater is the best preserved monument of the island. Outside the wall one can find the stadium and the gymnasium where the statue of Venus was also found (dated 120BC).
