Karterados, built over a ravine, about two kilometers from Fira, doesn't initially seem interesting as a settlement, but if you decide to walk in the village, you will discover a traditional village with cave houses, captain's houses and quiet, picturesque streets. Among the attractions of Karterados are the central square, the traditional mill and the churches, Analipsi (Ascension) and the Panagia I Kokkini (Red Lady), which it is said was given this name because when they were building the church, the water ran out so they used red wine instead.
