Its construction was completed in 1898 and it is without doubt one of the greatest and most beautiful City Halls in Modern Greece. As a blueprint, it passed through the hands of many architects to end up in the hands of E. Chiller, who designed it in such a way that it could house other services as well. At the front, it consists of three floors, while at the back it has two floors due to the declivity. Its facade has marble columns and large windows. You will enter the City Hall through the wide Tuscan staircase. There, passing by four columns and going up the hanging ladder, you will have the opportunity to see the busts of great benefactors of the island as well as valuable old furniture that existed in the City Hall since its inauguration. What will take your breath away are the tall arcades, the glass roof, the delicate rails, which add brilliance to this space. The Archeological Museum, the Court-house, the Mortgage Offices and other public services are housed in the City Hall.
