The only operative Olympic museum in the country is located in Thessaloniki. Its main purpose is to preserve the country’s athletic history. The museum has been open since 1998 and hosts items from various athletic events such as the World, the Balkan and the Mediterranean Games. It has also been focusing on collecting items from the summer and winter Olympic Games since 2008. Your visit to the museum will acquaint you with the country’s sports history and allow you to take part in the ongoing events ending with cycling and rowing races for the celebration of the Olympic day.
