It is the newest museum of Thessaloniki (inaugurated in 2000) and its purpose is to preserve the historical memories of Northern Greece during the wars of the 19^th and 20^th century. The Revolution of 1821, the Balkan Wars, WWI, the German invasion, the National Resistance, the Asia Minor Disaster and other important Greek wars are presented in a unique way in the museum. In the foreyard one can see the armored vehicles, battle planes and torpedoes decorating the museum’s exterior space.
