It is the newest museum of Thessaloniki (inaugurated in 2000) and its purpose is to preserve the historical memories of Northern Greece during the wars of the 19th and 20th century. The Revolution of 1821, the Balkan Wars, WWI, the German invasion, the National Resistance, the Asia Minor Disaster and other important Greek wars are presented in a unique way in the museum. In the foreyard one can see the armored vehicles, battle planes and torpedoes decorating the museum’s exterior space.
