Access

By car: Viotia Prefecture is located in Central Greece and Livadeia is the capital. It borders with Attiki Prefecture and as a result the access from Athens is quite easy. The distance is approximately 135km, i.e. around one and a half hour. From Thessaloniki the distance is around 358km, i.e. 4-5 hours. The distance from Lamia is 95km, from Larisa 235km and from Volos 200km.

By plane: There isn’t an airport in the prefecture and if you want to travel by plane the best choice is Athens airport with daily flights from the whole Greece, but also from the most countries abroad. From the airport you can take the bus X93 to Kifisos Buses and from there reach Viotia Prefecture.

By bus: There are daily itineraries available from and to Livadeia, the capital of the prefecture, to Athens, Thessaloniki and many cities of the mainland. For your local transportations you may use Viotia Buses.

By train: Livadeia, Thiva, Oinofyta and Oinoi are connected with Athens and Thessaloniki. The distance from Athens is quite short and the route is pleasant passing the green landscape. From Thessaloniki the distance is of course longer but still pleasant.
