It was discovered north of Stavroupoli, on the way to Komnina village. It’s the biggest and best preserved tomb in north-eastern Greece. It is dated around the first half of the 2nd century BC. It has the basic characteristics of the Macedonian tombs; it is underground, stone-built comprised of three main parts: the dromos (entrance passageway), the antechamber and the chamber. The difference of this tomb from the others is that at the Tomb of Stavroupoli, the dromos is sheltered and at the inner side of the wall there is no stucco. The monument is open for visitors.
