Armolia is located 21km southeast of Chora on the road Kalamoti-Pyrgi. It was named either after the god Mercury (Ermis > Ermolia) or the Greek verb "armozo"(befit) > Armogia, which was later established as Armolia. Moreover, it is a village of approximately 600 inhabitants hidden between two mountains, where the ungrudging nature with the lentisks and olive trees arrays this Mediterranean scenery with warm green colors. You will also see a part of the medieval core and of the authentic wall, which has been preserved. Nearby the village, Armolia Lake known for the amount of argil that rests on its bottom, gave to the inhabitants the opportunity to work on pottery and come to the front. Handmade earthen and figuline objet d' arts (pots, jars, pitchers) can take your breath away. The landmarks of the village are the Holy Monastery Zoodohos Pigi Vrettou of the 18th century and the castle of Apolihnon.
