The main avocations of the Lagkadian inhabitants are the olive trees, fruit trees, farming and fishing activities. This fishing village, which resembles Galaxidi with its basic infrastructures, spreads in the northeastern coast of the island, just 16km from Chios, and has managed to survive pirate raids and earthquakes maintaining a self-contained course. It is estimated that almost all the inhabitants come from Kydianta, an old abandoned village of the famous island of mastic. The verdant lowlands, full of eucalyptus and pine trees, scent tactfully the Lagkadian air and welcome the visitors. Nearby Lagkada, you will meet the beaches Pantoukios and Fanaraki. You will find yourself in Oinousses after a twenty-minute route by boat, from the port of Lagkadia.
