Near Neohori, you will see the stauropegial monastery of Agios Minas, which was built in 1586, and has its feast day on the 11th of November (The liberation day of the island). In 1822, thousands of Christians were slaughtered in this martyrical place and their blood was soaked in the marble floor. The remnants of the slaughtered are kept in the chapel as well as several interesting books.
