Since 1995, a collective effort for saving the Chian folkloric features has started in Kallimasia. The effectuation of the original idea was accomplished after the distiller of ouzo (known as rebikario) was built. Nowadays, in the basement of the Junior High School of Kallimasia in a surface of 550m2, a stone village of traditional architecture has been created, which depicts the everyday life of the inhabitants in the past.
It is a cozy and picturesque place that reflects the everyday life of 30 occupations of the era (blacksmith, tailor, tallow chandler, apiarist, butcher, midwife etc.) with their corresponding tools and the operation of a household with its main rooms. Moreover, many exhibitions and educational programs are organized to maintain the student's attention.
You should definitely attend this guided tour and wander around the place like a traveler from another time. This will definitely be an unforgettable experience. Opening hours: Monday-Friday 8:30-13:30.
