The History and Science museum has been hosted in the 1st Secondary School of Chios since 1999. In this building, theory meets science and the result is harmonious and complementary.
The exhibits are divided into three sections: collections of history-folklore, collections of scientific implements and a large library with 5.000 books. The museum site of History includes ancient earthen objects, manuscripts and coins from different historical times, swords, weapons, medals and photographs. You will be shocked by the photos of the lost students during the world wars, which depict the horror of the military conflicts.
On the other hand, you will be impressed by the form and the usefulness of rare scientific implements made in the early 19th century. The various scientific fields, from where these particular tools derive, are remarkable. Some fields, such as mechanics of solid materials, meteorology, heat-magnetism etc., belong to the subcategories of physical science and provide illuminating information.
