After the Odeon Irodou Attikou in Athens, Pausanias singled out the Odeon of Patra as the most important in Greece. It was built in the 2nd century AD with a capacity of 2500 to 3000 people. Time held it well hidden until 1889 that was excavated. The conservatory has all the parts of a theater like the auditorium, orchestra, stage and backstage. Since the restoration of the theater and on, it is used for many cultural events and hosts the Summer festival of Patra. Visiting hours: Daily 8:00-14:30 except Monday.
