After Klitoria, near Likouria, is the point where the first shot was heard the night from 16 to 17 March 1821 and resulted in the uprising and the beginning of the war against the Turks. On a hill near the mountain Saita, stands the statue of Liberty, with broken chains on the wrists and a sword in the hand calling the Greeks to rise up and fight.
