A winery that was created by the Bavarian Gustav Clauss in 1861 and exists until today. From the moment you entering its gates the grandeur of the past deluges you. Stone towers, cellars with elaborate built barrels and the smell of good old wine. All these on a green hill, surrounded by vines and accompanied by the view of Patra. The wine-making activity of Clauss was excelled because of a breed of grapes that gave a dark and sweet wine, known to all of us now as ‘mavrodaphne’.
