Eretria was once the greatest naval power of ancient Greece (8th-5th century B.C.) and the greatest center of the Greek world during that period. It is the most historical part of Evia and one of the most historical parts of the whole Greece, with many archaeological attractions. Eretria, a natural port between mountain and sea, had been a peaceful beautiful city since 1824. The seasonal residences of the city are numerous. The profile of the city is composed by taverns with amazing shrimp spaghetti, ouzeries, cafes, hotel facilities, clean beaches and vivid nightlife with bars and clubs! Next to Eretria lies the Nisi ton Oneiron (the Island of Dreams), an ideal place to play games and have fun! We suggest that you visit Eretria, if not for many days then at least for an one-day excursion, to see the findings dating back to the ancient years, explore the modern city and taste some delicious food!
