Athenian feudal lords built this castle in the area Fylla, just outside Chalkida, in order to get protected by the outraged Evians. The castle overlooks all directions. It once belonged to the family Dalle Carceri and is connected to the name of Likaros, who was a knight, pirate and servant of the family. After the Frankish rule and the various damages that suffered, it fell into the possession of the Turks and specifically of Evliya Çelebi, who renamed it “Flampor Kale. Many parts of the castle, as well as the walls surrounding it, were destroyed as a result of the Turkish invasions, aiming to demolish it. It’s a 190 meters high castle you shouldn’t miss!
