The temple of Agios Ioannis o Rosos (Saint John the Russian) is located in Prokopi of Evia, 60 kilometers from Aidipsos, after Psachna. You’ll find it on the road to northern Evia from Chalkida. This temple is towering, with large marble columns inside. The huge frescoes depict important moments of Christianity with dark colors. Saint John the Russian died in 1730 and his relics are kept in this temple. Many religious people arrive on foot from nearby villages on the 27th of May, his feast day. During this period a big fest is held in Prokopi, with traditional music and dances from northern Evia. You should pass by!
