The holy temple of Theotokos is located in Vasiliko, south of Chalkida. The temple was built for the first time in the 15th century. The current building is said to be the third in the same location, as the two previous were destroyed after numerous invasions. It is a domed basilica with colorful paintings, combining elements of the past with elements of the present. You should visit it on the 15th of August, during the biggest celebration of the summer for the Greeks, with a big fest in Vasiliko celebrating the feast day of the temple.
