Carnival: You should join the carnival especially in Antimacheia and Kefalos, where the custom of the "kamouzeles" revives on the Sunday of the Carnival. The locals, after putting on masks, wearing colorful blankets and painting their faces with coal, go around the village and tease the residents waving menacingly the “kokala” (skeleton of a donkey head with a mouth that opens and closes). The “ghost” is burned late at night.
Easter: During Easter, men and young children tie up large nails with gunpowder in the holes of the keys. In the evening of the Resurrection they hit the keys on the walls, creating strong bangs and celebrating in this way the happy event. According to another custom, the same night they fill up strips of paper with gunpowder and put wicks on their edges. Then they wrap the strips in a triangular shape and lit the wick with the first beat of the bell!
