The Archaeological Museum is located in the city of Kos and houses archaeological findings discovered in the early 20th century. The excavations were carried out by the Italian occupiers, after the earthquake of 1933. The museum houses sculptures dating back to the Hellenistic until the late Roman period. It also houses findings from the archaeological sites of the Market but also the Altar of Dionysus, the Odeon and the Roman House (Casa Romana). Many saved statues, like those of Hera, Demeter, Athena and Hippocrates, are exhibited in the museum.
