Bourani Festival (Tyrnavos): This emotive festival takes place every Great Monday and is famous all over Greece. The festival includes, among others, the kissing of wooden…phalluses that are held by local men. They are usually constructed by wood, clay or even bread. A great festival with traditional dances and songs takes place, while the people celebrating can eat the traditional dishes of Great Monday (bread, bean soup) for free. Although Bourani is a folk festival, it symbolizes reproduction and fertility.
Wine Festival of Ampelonas: The Wine Festival of Ampelonas takes place annually and lasts for three days. Local wine, traditional dishes, music and dancing are the characteristics of a festival that attracts thousands of visitors.
Bazaar of Larisa: The Bazaar of Larisa is one of the biggest in Greece. Although it dates back to the Turkish occupation, it has managed to preserve its special character and also accommodate the modern needs. It takes place every year on the 20th of September.
