The castle must have been part of a fortified city of the middle ages southern of Kissavos that controlled the passage from Agiokampos to Larisa. It is said that the byzantine Kentavropolis, whose walls together with the walls of Evrimenes were reconstructed by the Emperor Justinian, was located here.
