The church of the Virgin Mary of Armenio is located on the old national road connecting Volos with Larisa. The simple chapel that existed there 20 years ago has been turned into an impressive temple visited by thousands of people every year that come here to worship the religious icon of Virgin Mary, which was painted by Apostolos Lucas. This religious icon that was found 150 years ago is said to be miraculous and many people tend to talk about the miracles that they either have already lived or have seen becoming true. It is also believed that the Holy Light comes out of the well that is located in the temple’s yard. The locals gather there to celebrate their customs. The religious festivals that take place on the 15^th of August 15th, Celebration of Virgin Mary and on the day of Zoodohos Pigi (Lifespring source) are particularly famous.
