Bourtzi is located on a small peninsula that separates the old from the new harbor of Skiathos. It was once the fortress of the island and had walls and embrasures. Today, a few elements of its history are saved, however it is worth visiting it for the greenery it has and the view to the settlement of Skiathos. There, you can also see a bust of Alexandros Papadiamantis. During the summer cultural nights are organized, with Bourtzi giving them an extra magical atmosphere.
