Its name in Greek language reminds us the word “miti” (= nose) and in fact the village is built on a salient of earth in the Ionian Sea. This is the reason why, even during the hottest days of summer a cool breeze blows in Mitikas. Its basic advantage is its view of the evergreen island of Kalamos that is located a stone’s throw from the shores of Mitikas.
You will enjoy a swim in the beaches just outside the village and in the coastal settlement you can choose one of the many taverns that serve fresh seafood. From Mitikas you can also take the boat to Kalamos and Kastos, two very beautiful but less known islands of the Ionian.
