The church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary of Vlochos is located under the town of Thestieis in the village of Kenourgio and was built in the early 13^th century. In 1834, this church together with other monasteries was closed down after Othon’s orders. From all the artifacts only the Gospel, the chalice, the shrine and the stamp with the inscription “THIS SEAL IS OF VIRGIN MARY FROM THE HOLY MONASTERY OF VLOCHOS” remained. Nowadays, the monastery is served by only one monk. Today, the monastery is served by one monk.
