Ligovitsiou Monastery, dedicated to the Assumption of Virgin Mary, is built just above the village Ochthia, with a view to lake Ozeros. During the war od independence in 1821, it was used as the headquarters of Karaiskakis and Mavrokordatos. During the reign of Othon it was closed down together with other monasteries of the area. Nowadays, the monastery operates with 10 monks and is visited by lots of people.
