Garlic pickle: This novel delicacy occurred due to the large amounts of garlic produced in the area. And you won't have any trouble digesting it despite what you might think.
Gioulbasi: Large pieces of lamp, veal and pork wrapped in wax paper with garlic and kefalograviera that are braised for hours in a wood-fired oven. If you come across it, do not hesitate to taste it!
Tsipourο: Like in all Greek provinces, exceptional tsipouro is also produced here. You will be very lucky if you nose out home-made productions of tsipouro, but the labels are also very good.
Moschofilero wine: This variety is known for its delicate flavor and the fruity aroma. In Arcadia, you can find one of its best versions with a protected designation of origin.
Salted pork: In Arcadian villages, large amounts of salted pork (pasto) are produced every winter. Every housewife has her own dosage, with cinnamon and clove-gillyflower and scented with orange. You can enjoy it as an appetizer or as a meal with a country-style omelet.
Vanilia honey: This firry honey with a protected designation of origin is produced only in this area, with a strong flavor and fair tints. Those that have tasted it, they love it!
Spoon sweets: Every year, spoon sweets are made from the products that flourish every season. The best of these products are: quince-morello-walnut (as a spoon sweet and liqueur), rose-chestnut-olive (as a spoon sweet) and the most fantastic and rarest wild cowberry liqueur, which is found in Ano Doliana, and the habitants call it "zabouka or Bisti".
Liqueur "Tipota"("Nothing"): A century ago, there was a monk who used to visit his friend, a distiller, every time he was in Tripolis. Every time, the distiller asked him if he would like something to drink, and he always responded:“Tipota.” So, the distiller made a liqueur, with a floral scent, to offer to the monk and he named it "Tipota"!
Hand-made pasta: Noodles, frumenty and lasagna made with fresh rustic eggs. In many villages, there are workshops that produce these products. The housewives take the materials there in order to have purveyance for the whole year, but they are also for sale.
Cheese products: In the cheese merchants' premises that are located in the plain of Tripolis, you can find the amazing graviera and feta of Tripolis. Don't miss it!
Meat: Arcadia is known for its meat production. You will taste well-fed and well-fatted meat in all taverns. Do not hesitate to taste boiled gkiosa (old goat). You might even find some venison, wild boar or hare.
Asparagus: The wild asparagus, which are collected during winter, are one of the local delicacies. They can be eaten raw, sauté with lemon or in an omelet with fresh eggs.
Wild greens: You should definitely taste this classic dish. They might have a bitter taste but, still, it's nature's flavor right on your dish!
