It's the first artificial forest in Greece, the work of Tasos Stefanos, a writer and a forester, for whom it was the dream of his life for 60 years. His dream was fulfilled in 1976, when he convinced the inhabitants of Vlachokerasia and the surrounding villages to plant fir, pine and chestnut trees synthesizing a natural environment. Nowadays, there are biking and hike paths and many trips are organized by the alpine clubs of the area.
