On the 10^th March 1944 in Viviani, the first government of free Greece was established. Aris Velouchiotis and Napoleon Zervas met in this village in 22^nd of November 1942 and decided to destroy the bridge of Gorgopotamos.
Nowadays, the local authorities try to restore the damages and operate the museum in order to commemorate the honor of the place that was tightly connected with the modern history of Greece. Photographs and documents of that period can be seen in the museum.
