It is located 25km to the west of Alexandroupolis and can be accessed by private means. In this area, several excavations brought to light the great ancient city of Zone founded in the 7th century BC. At its entrance stand the remains of the Bethel of Dimitra, while a bit further to the north stood a temple of Apollo. To the west, in the main part of the city (where the public buildings are located), a place where tens of traditional jars are kept, provokes the admiration of visitors. The city is surrounded by castles and the cemetery is located outside the city. Visiting hours: Daily 8:30-15.00 excluding holidays.
