These are all fresh water lakes created by the waters that cover the southeastern part of the estuary (delta) during the periodic floods in the winter. The yellow-golden fields of reeds surrounding them will definitely impress you.
They are located to the northeast of the disemboguement of Evros River. Their fresh waters, coming mostly from rainfalls, are preserved till the early summer and host large numbers of ducks, which spend the winter here.
