Access
By boat: The island is connected to the port of Piraeus as well as several islands in the Aegean as the port of Heraklio (Crete), Rhodes (duration about 3 hours), Thessaloniki, Syros (lasting 7-8 hours) etc. The journey from the port of Piraeus takes about ten to fifteen hours.

By plane: Kos has the national Hippocrates airport and is connected with Athens, Thessaloniki and other domestic and international airports. To get from the airport to Kos town or other villages you can either go on public transportation or by taxi or private vehicle.
