Kissavos is the “enemy” of Olympus. Despite the fact that it is 939 meters shorter, this mountain also depicts the greatness of nature and mythology. Although Olympus was the “home of the Gods”, Kissavos was more important as Dimitra, the Goddess of Agriculture, was said to live there. A big part of the mountain has been characterized an “aesthetic forest” and is protected by Natura 2000 as an area of impressive natural beauty.
